Terms & Conditions

The terms that govern every Nexus Credit facility.

These Terms and Conditions form a binding agreement between you (the applicant or borrower) and Nexus Financial Services Limited, a company incorporated in the Republic of Zambia and registered with the Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA), trading digitally as Nexus Credit. They apply to every personal, salary advance, civil servant payroll, SME working capital, Nexus Drive vehicle title, landed property and asset finance facility we offer.

1. Definitions and interpretation

“We”, “us”, “our”, “Nexus Credit” and “the Lender” mean Nexus Financial Services Limited. “You”, “your” and “the Borrower” mean the person or business applying for or holding a facility. “Facility” means any credit advanced under a signed Loan Agreement. “Loan Agreement” means the offer letter, schedule of repayments and security documents you sign.

Where these Terms conflict with your signed Loan Agreement, the signed Loan Agreement prevails for that facility. All amounts are denominated and repayable in Zambian Kwacha (ZMW).

2. Eligibility

To apply you must be at least 18 years of age, hold a valid Zambian green National Registration Card (NRC) or an accepted alternative identity document, hold a bank or registered mobile money account in your own name, and provide verifiable proof of income or business turnover.

Business applicants must provide PACRA registration documents, TPIN details and the identity documents of the directors or proprietors authorised to borrow.

You confirm that all information and documents you submit are true, current and complete, and that you are not applying on behalf of another person without written authority. Providing false information is a criminal offence and grounds for immediate cancellation and recovery.

3. Applications, approval and the reference ticket

An application, a website calculator estimate or a reference ticket (for example NEX-00000) is not an approved offer and creates no obligation on Nexus Credit to lend. Every facility is subject to identity verification, document verification, affordability assessment, credit reference checks and our internal credit criteria.

Your reference ticket allows you to track your file in the applicant portal together with the NRC number recorded on the application. Keep it confidential; anyone holding both your ticket and NRC can view the status of your application.

We may decline an application without giving reasons, and we may request further documents at any stage. Where a credit reference bureau check is performed, you consent to that check and to the reporting of your repayment conduct.

4. Interest, fees and the total cost of credit

Before you sign, we disclose in writing the principal advanced, the interest rate and how it is calculated, all administration, insurance and statutory charges, the total amount repayable and the repayment schedule. You should not sign until each of these figures is clear to you.

Repayment figures shown on this website are indicative estimates generated for planning purposes. Only the schedule contained in your signed Loan Agreement is binding.

Nexus Credit does not charge hidden ledger fees and never requires an upfront processing payment, “clearance fee” or “insurance deposit” paid to a personal phone number, personal mobile money wallet or personal bank account. Any such demand is fraudulent and must be reported to us immediately.

5. Disbursement

Approved funds are disbursed to the bank account or registered mobile money wallet held in the Borrower’s own name, after all conditions precedent (including security registration where applicable) have been satisfied.

Our 24-hour disbursement guarantee applies to complete applications approved within business hours where all required documents and verifications have been received. Delays caused by incomplete documents, failed verification, employer payroll confirmation or third-party payment systems fall outside this guarantee.

6. Repayment and deduction at source

You must repay each instalment in full on or before its due date. Payroll and civil servant facilities are recovered by deduction at source where an approved employer or payroll arrangement exists, and you authorise your employer or payroll agency to effect those deductions and to confirm your employment and net pay to us.

Where deduction at source is not available, repayment is made by the agreed mobile money or bank transfer to a Nexus Credit corporate account only. Payments made to any individual’s personal account do not discharge your obligations.

Early settlement is permitted at any time. Request a written settlement figure from a loan officer before paying, as the figure changes with the date of payment.

7. Late payment, default and recovery

An event of default occurs if you fail to pay any amount when due, if you supplied false information, if you become insolvent or subject to legal process, if security is disposed of or encumbered without consent, or if you breach any other material term of the Loan Agreement.

On default, default interest and reasonable recovery costs accrue as disclosed in your Loan Agreement, the full outstanding balance may be declared immediately due and payable, and your conduct may be reported to a licensed credit reference bureau, which can affect your ability to obtain credit elsewhere.

We will contact you before enforcement and will, wherever possible, agree a realistic restructuring plan. Contact us early; a restructured arrangement is always preferable to enforcement for both parties.

8. Security and collateral

Vehicle title (Nexus Drive), landed property and asset-backed facilities require valid security registered in accordance with Zambian law. You warrant that you are the lawful owner of the security, that it is free of undisclosed encumbrances, and that you will keep it insured and in good condition.

For Nexus Drive facilities you retain use of the vehicle while the facility is performing. Security is realised only after default and only through lawful process, with the statutory notice period and any surplus proceeds returned to you after settlement of the debt and reasonable costs.

9. Your obligations

You must keep your contact details, employment details and banking details current, notify us promptly of any change in your ability to repay, and cooperate with reasonable verification requests.

You must not share your reference ticket, portal details or one-time passwords with any person, including anyone claiming to be a member of our staff.

10. Electronic communication and records

You consent to receiving statements, notices, reminders and decisions by email, SMS, in-app notification, WhatsApp on our official helpline, or through the applicant portal, and you accept that these communications have the same effect as written notice.

Our electronic records of applications, documents, uploads, decisions and communications are admissible evidence of the transactions they record.

11. Automated and AI-assisted document checks

Documents you upload may be processed by automated tools that summarise their contents and flag missing or inconsistent information for a human loan officer. These tools support our officers; they do not make lending decisions on their own.

Every approval, decline, limit and pricing decision is taken by an authorised Nexus Credit loan officer, and you may ask for a human review of any decision that affects you.

12. Limitation of liability

We provide this website and the applicant portal on a reasonable-efforts basis and do not warrant uninterrupted availability. We are not liable for loss arising from network, mobile money, banking or employer payroll failures outside our control, nor for indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Zambian law, including liability for fraud.

13. Complaints, governing law and jurisdiction

If you are dissatisfied, follow our Customer Complaint Procedure. We aim to acknowledge complaints within two business days and resolve them within fifteen business days.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia, including the Money-Lenders Act, the Banking and Financial Services Act, the Data Protection Act and the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, as applicable. The courts of Zambia have exclusive jurisdiction.

14. Changes to these terms

We may amend these Terms from time to time and will publish the revised version on this page with an updated date. Amendments do not change the pricing or schedule of a facility already advanced, which continues to be governed by your signed Loan Agreement.

Questions about these Terms may be sent to support@nexuscredit.com or raised with a loan officer on the official helpline +260 976 000 000 during Mon–Fri 08:00–17:00 · Sat 09:00–13:00 (CAT).

Nexus Financial Services Limited will never ask for payment or advance upfront processing fees via personal phone numbers. Always verify through official channels.
